CURATED BY STUDIO POTTERY LONDON

Established in 2019 between the bustle of London’s Victoria and the elegance of Belgravia, Studio Pottery London showcases the work of Gregory Tingay together with contemporary ceramics of museum calibre. Uniquely these are shown within a working studio for the learning and practice of wheel-thrown pottery – a space described by Edmund de Waal as being of ‘extraordinary beauty’. Trained by a pupil of Bernard Leach, Tingay’s work speaks of his native Africa in an efflorescence of sgraffito and polychromatic slip.
