Raykhan Laing
Creativity has always been a part of Raykhan’s life, but her turning point came during a trip to Portugal. There she discovered ceramics as a limitless form of self-expression. The freedom of form and the tactile nature of the material inspired her.
Hand-building quickly became Raykhan’s favourite technique because it allows her to work intuitively and without constraints. She continues to explore different types of clays, glazes, textures, and shapes as she searches for her own artistic language.
When creating each piece, Raykhan imagines how it will exist in space and what emotions it might evoke. Her goal is to express feelings through form and material, creating objects that are not only functional but also alive and emotive.
